Do you have pain in the back of the pelvis (sacroiliac-SI) when driving or bending standing?
Do you have pain in the front of your pelvis (symphyses pubis) with walking or stair climbing?
Have you received treatment that only gave temporary relief?
Melissa assesses the end feel of joint restrictions rather than joint alignment. This more quickly finds the driving cause of the pain or symptoms. Quite often the driving cause of the symptoms is NOT at the location of the pain. The driving cause may be as far away as the foot or ankle in the lower body or neck or shoulder in the upper body.
This approach differs from her traditional manual physical therapy education that looked at the pelvic joint being "out of alignment". Her original education like many others recommended treating the muscles and joints of hips and back first. Then to look at the pelvic joints. You may have received SEVERAL treatments in the past that included stretching and strengthening exercises before the pelvic joints are addressed. This can be costly, time-consuming, and frustrating.
The treatment takes 3-5 sessions for significant relief. If appropriate, then you will be given self-treatment instructions for between visits.
