Hands-on bodywork from a Women's Pelvic Health Physical Therapist. She provides care for women in all phases of life; pregnancy, postpartum, and all women past menopause. She offers alternative women's pelvic care for those that want to avoid surgery and medication. She has found that meaningful healing occurs when care is given to the whole person by addressing the body, mind, and spirit. When care is given to all three a balanced pelvis is found.

Melissa Schubert has been a physical therapist in the Orlando area for over 20 years and has specialized as a pelvic physical therapist for the past 10 years and the owner of The Balanced Pelvis. She believes that ALL women deserve special care during their pregnancy, during postpartum, and throughout their lifetime.
As a pelvic physical therapist, she provided relief from pelvic joint pain: sacroiliac joint (SIJ) dysfunction, coccyx (tailbone), and symphysis pubis pain. Many times the cause of pain or dysfunction is not the location of pain and only treating the location of pain will quite often only give temporary relief.
More recently, her approach to care for moms during pregnancy and after has changed to a much more holistic approach. She is a certified specialist from the Birth Healing Institute. She provides care during pregnancy for pain relief and birth prep. In the postpartum period to realign the muscles, fascia, and joints that may have shifting in pregnancy or during birthing whether the birth was a vaginal or a belly birth. She also assists with processing emotions, fears, or trauma that may be held in the pelvis or tissues. The emotions may be the underlying cause of other symptoms such as bladder leaking, constipation, painful sex to mention a few.
