Pilates

With over 15 years of Pilates practice stemming from her initial class at the YMCA, Melissa understands firsthand its transformative power. Since becoming certified in 2009, she has integrated Pilates into her physical therapy practice. She takes the fundamental philosophy of Pilates and put you back on your feet. So that you take what you learn into your everyday life and activities.  Today, she eagerly offers her wealth of experience to you in Historic Cocoa Village. Whether you're recovering from an injury and hesitant to return to your usual physical activities, Melissa is poised to help you bridge that gap.

Three benefits of Pilates exercises:
  1. Improved Core Strength: Pilates is your secret weapon for a stronger core and better posture. By targeting your abdominals, back, and pelvic floor, you'll not only reduce pain but also feel more aligned, confident, and powerful in your body.
  2. Increased Flexibility and Mobility: Imagine building strength and flexibility at the same time. Pilates targets underused muscles for strength while gently lengthening tight ones like your hamstrings, hip flexors, and plantar fasciitis. With improved flexibility, you'll move better, feel better, and lower your risk of injury.
  3. Enhanced Mind-Body Connection: Breathe, move, and reconnect. Pilates blends mindful breathing with intentional movement, helping women sharpen body awareness and find a deeper mind-body connection. The result? Less stress, more relaxation, and a life that feels more balanced.
